Despite their calm nature, Taurus people have an energy that never tires. Whatever job they are doing and whoever they are working for, they will use that energy to the full. In their eagerness to enjoy what the world has to offer, they can go to excess in eating, drinking and travelling. Taurus governs the nape of the neck and the throat region, which is why they catch tonsillitis and colds very easily. Because their thyroid secretes a great deal, they have constant problems with weight. They are generally healthy, large-built people, and some of them are extraordinarily strong. They withstand pain better than others do. They are patient patients: they follow the doctor''s advice to the letter and take their medicine properly. In winter especially, if they are not careful, sore throats, hoarseness and bronchitis appear. Taurus people are fond of heavy food and put on weight very easily. Every complaint connected with weight finds them. While diabetes and heart problems threaten their health, blood-pressure trouble in later life is seen most often in Taurus people. Vegetables do not interest them. They need fibre for their bowels to work regularly. To keep the thyroid working well and to meet their need for iodine, they should eat fish three days a week. Taurus women in particular should take more vitamins after the age of 35 and should make room for food rich in vitamins A and E. They should also eat wholemeal food and, much as they dislike it, give weight to exercise.
